Hi everyone!  As you’re aware, things have been hectic around here, especially since the opening of our second clinic on River Road.  If you haven’t already, pop in and say hi to the team.

Speaking of time, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve secured the services of Yvonne Milroy of Write On to assist with this blog.  Yvonne and I are both really excited about where the blog is headed, and all will be revealed over the coming weeks.

As an aside, for the small business owners amongst you, I highly recommend becoming involved in twitter.  If it wasn’t for twitter, Body Café and Write On would probably not have joined forces. It’s a total win-win situation.

From now on, in the bottom corner you’ll see either a MM or a YM at the end of the blog so you’ll know who wrote it.  I hope you enjoy the further changes we’ve got up our sleeves for you.

Well most of you would have seen or heard about the fantastic chance to to be selected an intensive 16 week skin care program, and nutritional program.

Just in case you have missed it, here are the details again

We are looking for a person who has a story to tell about their skin. This person will be able to tell us in 250 words or less what it is they would like to change about their skin, and Body Cafe, together with Numue Skin care, and Stacey Hancock – Nutritionist personal trainer and coach, will commit 16 weeks to making you “be all you can be”

This is an opportunity for those of you who really want to make some positive changes in your lives, to improve your skin, and your well-being and overall levels of confidence.

All you need to do is send us a couple of photos, and a brief summary of why you would like to be selected for the bootcamp. We will select the MOST deserving person, and all entries will receive a special little something to say thanks.

OK I admit it, its been a long time since i sent out a Blog post to all of the fantastic customers at BodyCafe.

This year we have again won the accolade of the top Nimue Salon in New Zealand, so we are hugely thankful to everyone involved in our business.

Lately however I have been thinking about the way we treat our customers and what it is that makes people decide to come to us, as opposed to our competition.

We have a fantastic product in Nimue, we have convenient locations at River Road, and Victoria street, and we have outstanding staff that I am so proud of.

These things all add up to a good experience, but we don’t want good…….we want great…..we want the best.

We recognize that the “experience” starts from the moment you ring, email, tweet, facebook, text us for an appointment and we want to make that experience “remarkable” we want you to tell your friends about us, about the way YOU felt special.

And if the experience doesn’t live up to your expectations, we want to know about it.

I read a great post on twitter the other day that said “the difference between an amateur and a professional is what they do when no one is watching, not what they do when everyone is watching”

This sums it up perfectly for us, we are YOUR clinic, we are YOUR therapists, we provide YOUR experience, we are PROFESSIONALS.

Who is behind Body Cafe? Our great staff who make our day wonderful & our bodies beautiful! Driving it all is Megan Macfie & Alan O’Donnell, and collectively we own OMG! (O’Donnell Macfie Group!, just in case you were wondering) Together, we own both Body Cafe clinics, and also Crewcut Lawn and Garden Services & Crewcut Commercial Cleaning. Weekly, we have an awesome brainstorming session to tick off our list from the previous week, celebrate successes, make our stumbling blocks into stepping stones and plan for the week ahead. Do you think there is anything we could do better? After all, for both of our businesses, you are all the ones that count! Last Saturday we had a family of horrible people who decided they needed great skincare. While the mother distracted Lauren in reception the 4 teenagers stole thousands of dollars worth of  products from our shelves. The crazy thing is that none of these will match their skin types & will hurt if applied without one of us prescribing. They took microneedling rollers as well, so good luck to them using those, but these lowlifes must be thick-skinned I guess!
