Ole to yeow!

On Saturday, I attended Body Café Staff Christmas Party. We had a great meal at Mexicomidas and then partied on at Rodeo Rodeo. I, being an upstanding citizen of high morals, left the team to it at 11pm, to go home, jump into my pjs, say my prayers and then retire peacefully into bed. You’ll have to check with your therapist about what time she made it home.
However, after pondering the Mexican theme of the night, I had an absolute brainwave as to how to relate it to Body Café’s business.
Have you ever heard of Frida Kahlo (1907 – 1954)? She was an incredibly famous Mexican artist who took up painting whilst recovering from a serious bus accident. Frida painted numerous self-portraits and always included her rather striking moustache and superb monobrow. In fact, her facial hair became a symbol, and to this day in museums across the world, you can purchase all sorts of Frida Kahlo moustachioed memorabilia. And, get this…there are lookalike competitions where women attempt to naturally imitate Frida’s look.

I have a family member who has been dealing with facial hair from puberty, and has always found it a great source of embarrassment. The therapists at Body Café have been trained specifically in making your visit relaxing and as stress free as possible. I can guarantee that they’ve seen things far worse than your issue with facial hair. Everyone has it, but some people are blessed with thicker, darker or coarser hair than others. If it has been troubling or embarrassing you for a while, maybe now is the time to book an appointment and gain back that self confidence you may have lost.

The team at Body Café can have you NOT looking like Friday Kahlo in a jiffy. Both Brow Tidys and Upper Lip waxing start at $20, and are reasonably quick procedures which will have you in and out within 15 minutes. FYI, it may not be the least hurtiest* thing you can do at Body Cafe, but the results are fantastic. And if you need some distraction, the therapists will be able to regale you with stories of the fabulous Christmas Party.

Re-Using Wax- A HUGE NO-NO!
August 15, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Body Cafe has never ever even considered re-using wax. In the past (and the past being 15-20+ years ago, before our time, we have been the leaders here in hamilton for just 10 years!) Hot wax was a rare/expensive luxury so the Wax Pots were designed to seperate the hair from the wax & you would be left with hair-free wax, enabling you to use the wax again (ew yuk, gag!)
This method did not manage to filter out dead skin, diseases, blood or any skinny or small pieces of hair. I can only begin to imagine the cross-contamination that would fester away in the wax pots as they are a nice, warm breeding ground for any infections as the wax isn't boiling hot to kill them.
We are lucky enough at Body Cafe to be Experts in Brazilian waxing, and any form of Hot Waxing enabling us to purchase bulk amounts of wax to keep our prices down & keep our waxing methods sterile and infection free. Each time you visit us for a Brazilian, you will know you will get a fresh towel, a fresh piece of tissue to lie on, unused wax, gloves on the therapist and our spatulas & used wax disposed of hygienically. All of our equipment is sterilised after each wax, including wax pots and tweezers. You will be advised after your treatment on the best way to manage your fresh wax result to enable you not to get any infection once you leave our clinic in the open hair follicles after you visit.
