Mums the word

She brought you into this world kicking and screaming, she fed you bathed you and cuddled you when you were too small to look after yourself, she took you to school on those wet days, She took you to hospital when you fell out of the tree house, she laughed with you when you were happy, and cried when you were sad, she stood proudly as you graduated, and cried when you left home. Shes always there for you, a bond that can never ever be broken. Shes your mother, when was the last time you told her that you loved her.

Show her you care this mothers day with a voucher from Bodycafe, every voucher purchased goes into the draw to win a $xxxx voucher from Iguana, so you can treat mum to a lovely mothers day lunch as well.

All it takes is a phone call or email and some credit card details and we can take care of the rest.

IPL Vs WAXING

April 26, 2011 | Leave a Comment

Waxing. The fine art of ripping unwanted body hair out by means of hot wax, and cloth strips. Now unless you are lucky enough to be born with the “perfect amount” of body hair, you need to do a little bit of landscaping every few weeks.

Now, for years Body cafe has been at the forefront of “Brazilian” waxing, having received kudos in style magazine as the best of the best some years ago. Waxing is great when done well, there’s no doubt it stings a little, its not overly expensive, and the results are instant….. we wax thousands of happy clients every year.

But with the economy tightening, maybe, just maybe there is an alternative, that will ultimately free up your monthly waxing money to spend on your skin care regimen.

Q OK, I’m interested but what is IPL and how does it reduce hair growth?

To Quote wikipedia

“The focused, broad-spectrum light is applied to the surface of the skin by way of either a hand-held wand or an articulated arm. This light travels through the skin until it strikes the hair shafts or the bulb (root) of the hair. The bulb is usually where the highest concentration of melanin is located, as opposed to the rest of the hair shaft. As the light is converted to heat energy, the bulb and most of the hair shaft are instantly vaporized.[1]

The intense heat radiated by the hair also destroys the hair-producing papilla or the entire hair follicle. It is also claimed that direct light-heat conversion occurs directly in the darker colored capillaries that bring nourishing blood vessels to the follicle. Contrary to what is often announced, Photoepilation is not a permanent hair removal method but a permanent hair reduction method. This means that although IPL treatments with these devices will permanently reduce the total number of body hairs, they will not result in a permanent removal of all hair.

People have been asking me lately “what is it you like about Inika Makeup”

I always say “what’s not to love”

So I thought this weeks blog a good opportunity to tell you all some interesting more about our FANTASTIC make-up range.

INIKA makeup is manufactured by our Australian cousins across the ditch. It is 100 percent Organic

It was born from a collaboration between two friends, Miranda Bond, and Jenni Williams. They were on a lifelong journey towards toxic free living, however, believed that they should not have to compromise on colour or performance with their makeup.

Nothing in the Australasian market measured up and thus INIKA was born.

INIKA is Completely free of harsh petrochemicals, fillers, talc, bismuth oxychoride, GM ingredients, parabens, preseratives, mineral oils, Phthalates, and fragreances.

At Bodycafe, we believe that you should not compromise your skin care by using poor quality makeup, we trialled a number of high profile make-up ranges, and only INIKA measured up, it “ticked all our boxes” its even certified as Vegan, and 100 percent Halal.

We love everything about this makeup, and it is one of the few brands that is commonly referred by dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons for patients who have had chemical peels, and microdermabrasion.

We all use this makeup and LOVE IT!!, but dont take our word for it, call in and have a look for yourself. If you book in for a facial, we will add a reapplication of day makeup for just $10**************

Well most of you would have seen or heard about the fantastic chance to to be selected an intensive 16 week skin care program, and nutritional program.

Just in case you have missed it, here are the details again

We are looking for a person who has a story to tell about their skin. This person will be able to tell us in 250 words or less what it is they would like to change about their skin, and Body Cafe, together with Numue Skin care, and Stacey Hancock – Nutritionist personal trainer and coach, will commit 16 weeks to making you “be all you can be”

This is an opportunity for those of you who really want to make some positive changes in your lives, to improve your skin, and your well-being and overall levels of confidence.

The sucessful applicant will recieve ……………

All you need to do is send us a couple of photos, and a brief summary of why you would like to be selected for the bootcamp. We will select the MOST deserving person, and all entries will receive a special little something to say thanks.

Now you dont have to be a bodycafe customer to enter, in fact we LOVE new clients as well as all those special people who caome and see us all the time

OK I admit it, its been a long time since i sent out a Blog post to all of the fantastic customers at BodyCafe.

This year we have again won the accolade of the top Nimue Salon in New Zealand, so we are hugely thankful to everyone involved in our business.

Lately however I have been thinking about the way we treat our customers and what it is that makes people decide to come to us, as opposed to our competition.

We have a fantastic product in Nimue, we have convenient locations at River Road, and Victoria street, and we have outstanding staff that I am so proud of.

These things all add up to a good experience, but we don’t want good…….we want great…..we want the best.

We recognize that the “experience” starts from the moment you ring, email, tweet, facebook, text us for an appointment and we want to make that experience “remarkable” we want you to tell your friends about us, about the way YOU felt special.

And if the experience doesn’t live up to your expectations, we want to know about it.

I read a great post on twitter the other day that said “the difference between an amateur and a professional is what they do when no one is watching, not what they do when everyone is watching”

This sums it up perfectly for us, we are YOUR clinic, we are YOUR therapists, we provide YOUR experience, we are PROFESSIONALS.

If we see your regularly “thanks so much”, if we haven’t seen you for a while “we would love to see you again soon”

What better reason than our April 2 for 1 special deal get a lash tint and a brow tidy for a measly $40, ….and bring a friend for free.

See you soon, stay beautiful…..Megan xx
